Not efficiently picking up anything, suction seems to be low
\015 It has been in my closet for years...because it is practically brand new...had another vacuum so did not get this one fiixed..now other one is gone..so I only used it for a few months and then it just wasn't picking up very well...I tried to clean it and make sure everything was connected properly. I know it should be alot stronger seems like the power and suction are both off..hard to explain. Can't believe something is wrong with the motor because it was hardly used...unless I got a bad vacuum sto start off with and just didn't know it...could I have vacuumed up something that could cause a defect in the motor? Please if you have any suggestions would apprecaite it...trying to look for a panasonic dealer in the meantime...\015
In my experience, you have a clog somewhere between the floor and the bag or what ever catches the dirt. Push something through all hoses. Look at all filters. Try running the machine (outside) while it is open to check the vaccum power.

No suction. I have followed the detachable parts no suction. I have followed the detachable parts and it seems to have suction through to the base but doesn't pick up anything significant. I have looked through the hose connecting the base but I can not see anything obstructing it.
Poor suction can be caused by obstructions, poor air flow or a compomise in the air flow (hole in the hose). Since you have started with that I would next look at all filters and clean them. First check for suction at the motor, then at accessory hos ... Vacuums
My dyson seems to have lost its suction therefore is not picking up anything yet i have found that when my dyson is standing upright it has a little more suction but nothing like how it use to work. Poor suction The actual sweeper seems to work ok, but the hose attachment has some suction but not enough to pick up things I think it should and not enough to make the power brush spin. I've checked everywhere I can for clogs, but I can't see anything. And there doesn't seem to be any way to check to hose itself for clogs. I've cleaned out the container and the filters, but there's still a problem.
Check the inlet down by the brush roll, make sure it is open, if it is then the hose itself must have a clog. If the hose comes off, drop something like a marble in one end and see it it comes out the other end, if it doesn't then you have a clog. ... Low suction When I start the vacuum, nothing picks up. I tried checking every aspect, but I don't seem understand the cause for this problem.

Poor Suction Heya! So I just picked up a used Dyson, but when I vacuum with it, the suction is pretty weak and it spits all kinds of stuff out the back and into my feet. When I pull the hose I have good suction, but in regular mode it hardly picks up anything. The brushes are spinning, and it eventually will clean an area if I go over it again and again. Maybe a clog somewhere? Please tell me that Dysons have better suction than my $50 Dirt Devil! Thanks!
