Having problems with your Panasonic Vacuums ?

Hi I’ve got a Panasonic vacuum cleaner MC E468 1600W a few years old now but works well up to recent problem. Not picking up I checked the obvious things and found excessive air being sucked in around the hose housing at the back of the vacuum (as it enters the waste bag) On inspection it appears to me as if there should be some sort of gasket that may have perished and been sucked in, however I can’t identify any such part. Any thoughts on what the problem/solution may be will be appreciate

Answers :

The hose on the back might be loose - check to see that the hose is not obstructing anything where it screws in at the back - or indeed the screws may be loose themselves; some of the MCE 468 models had an additional ring washer that sits between the hose and the body at the rear. Usually inside the machine where the bag is, there will be a gasket that fits over the hole of the dust channel leading from the dust bag - if this has come away then its a possible reason to why the suction is poor or excess suction coming off the back of the hose. If however the brush roll has stopped, it may well be that reason alone to why its not picking up as well so you should check the sole plate too as there may be some clogging or the motor pulley belt has snapped. Contact Panasonic UK customer services as they may well have the part for your machine. (http://www.panasonic.co.uk/html/en_GB/544169/index.html)

No suction i have a hoover supreme wind tunnel vac and its relatively new and the suction, well......sucks. It wont pick anything up! I am extremely frustrated! I picked up a ball of fuzz off the carpet and held it under the vacuum and it still wouldn't **** it up. I then shoved the fuzz up INTO the vacuum. It fell right back out. I may as well not even vacuum. Please help!

LOSING SUCTION IT APPEARS WHEN IN UPRIGHT POSITION, ALTHOUGH SUCKING (TO SOME DEGREE) IT THROWS BACK SMALL PIECES TO THE BACK OF THE VACUUM OPNTO THE CARPET BEHIND, AND THE CONTAINER HOLDING THE STUFF ISNT WHIRLING AROUND THE CONTAINER. I WONDER IF THE PASSAGE TO THE WIND TUNNEL IS BLOCKED, AND OF COURSE THAT IS THE PART I CANNOT GET TO, AS IT NEEDS A SPECIAL TOOL TO UNSCREW THE BACK OF THE VACUUM.

I have a Harmony vacuum that's a couple years old. I recently sucked a fair amount of dog hair into it and was unaware something was amiss since the things so quiet. It just shut down and wouldn't come back on. 10 minutes or so later it came back on but now it's got no sucking power. I figure I torched the motor. Good guess? What are my options--I'm out in the middle of no where but can get it to a repair shop 250 miles away. Is it worth trying to salvage or am I going to pay as much to get it f

I cleaned the whole thing out, changed out all the filters again and cleaned out the motor compartment. Then I discovered a huge clog in the line. Once I got that all done--it's now working like a charm. Moral of the story: spend more time looking fo ... Electrolux Vacuums

I took the cover off the brush so I could cut off all the hair that was wrapped around it (vacuum was working fine, I just noticed the hair). I pulled the brush/spinner thing off one side, cleaned everything, popped it back in where it belonged, and tried to make sure the belt was in the proper alignment. However, when I turned the vacuum on, it makes a horrible noise like I'm sucking up rocks. What have I done wrong in putting it back together? It seemed simple...

My Shop Vac (Brand) Mdl#934-16-11 keeps shutting off while I'm dry vacuuming. I can turn it back on then it will shut off again. The filter is spotless, so that's not the issue. There isn't any reset buttons. The only thing I can think of is that the float for wet vacuuming is somehow being sucked up causing the the motor to be tripped off. The vacuum is only about a year and a half old and used only sparingly. Help!

While cleaning, the vacuum sucked up a nail and I suspect it may have punnctured the hose from the vacuum base to the uppper cannister. The reason is that it appears to have lost its suction power and nothing gets into the fliter cnnister area any more. How do I replace this part ?z?

I have an Electrolux Oxygen 3 vacuum I purchased rebuilt. After 1 month the power stopped working. I took it into Electrolux Authorized repair dealer, which was a horrible experience. When we received it back it was clearly not as powerful as before. Does anyone have any suggestions on what the problem may be? I would rather fix it myself than take it back to them. The next repair center is too far away. I am pretty good with fixing things, just needs some guidance. I think the repair center rep

My electrolux oxygen vacuum cleaner shut off and will not turn back on. It's less than a year old, but I bought it off Craig's list--they were the orginal owner and they said they bought it in May of 2008. I've only used it a few times and it worked fine except for the last time when it suddenly just shut off. I thought maybe it had come unplugged and I didn't really worry about it because I was finished vacuuming. But, I went to use it tonight and it would not turn on at all--no lights, nothing

On the back of my lg kompressor vacuum below the retractable cord is a suction plug that keeps sucking in when the vacuum is turned on it is supposed to stay out the increase suction. what is the solution for this problem.

Remove the hose fitting on the lower back of the vacuum and you will probably find a large amount of debris lodged in the hose. That hose leads to an opening right behind the main roller brush. I have a Kirby G4. I have noticed the last few days when trying to vacuum that it is blowing more than it is sucking up. I put on a new bag to make sure it wasn't too full. I also put on the hose and noticed it's not sucking as well as normal. I unzipped the back of the bag holder and noticed the bag isn't inflating as it should be as well. I appreciate any advice. Thank you.

When i am vacuuming my carpet....it sucks the dirt up when i am pushing it forward, but when i pull it back, the dirt comes back out on the carpet

This is due to a loss of suction. The roller brush sweeps the dirt to the hose area, but with no suction, when you pull the vacuum back, the brush just kicks the dirt back out. This is most likely due to a clog in part of the hose system.\015 ... Vacuums

No suction vacuum won't pick up -- I've checked the bag, hose...and it seems to have no sucking power. The internal hose may be jammed (I vacuumed up a lot of shredded paper), but nothing as far as I can stick in fingers in. I don't have a metal coat hanger to slip down, but I'm afraid that might tear the hose and then the darn thing won't work anyway. :o(

I have a Hoover Elite Rewind model #uh71009. We moved recently and it was jostled around and the red power switch popped out.
