Having problems with your Rainbow 75th Anniversary Canister Vacuum ?

How do you disassemble Rainbow D4c to replace power cord? Took four screws loose but unable to see how to get housing loose...

Answers :

Gently pull on the rubber gasket that seals the water tank to the canister. Although there are more screws under there - they aren't necessary to remove only to replace your cord. It is the gasket that is holding the motor flange and the plastic housing together that hinders your progress. If you're gentle about pulling off the gasket and it's in good enough shape, you can usually put it back on with some rubber cement (the same thing it is originally attached with) when you're finished. If the gasket breaks, it would have to be replaced - but not a big deal - they aren't really very expensive.
Take the 4 screws off. Pull the cover off the housing. There are 4 more screws along the inside edge. You will need a long screw driver to take tem out. It is helpful to use a magnetic tipped screw driver to get the screws out. You then split the housing in half. You will see the wires in this area. If you need to get to the switch, take out another 4 screws in the top section and that will be where the switch is located. If you want to take the switch out, use a flat type scrapper to squeeze in the tabs.

Have Electrolux 1590 whole house vac, and can't see how to get brushes out. Leads so short, and don't want to break them trying to free brushes. Do they slide out of plastic housing? My eyes not real good, but it looks like the leads are part of a brass sleeve that slides into the plastic housing. It also looks like the plastic housing may be a snap lock type, but I don't see how to open it.

Hi. We've got a Dyson DC17 "Animal". It's clogged, and we are unable to separate the purple cyclone cap from the main cyclone body to get to the problem. We've heard of 4 torx screws that take some interesting tactics to access. I've been through this thing with a flashlight, and torx tools for a protracted period, and even after removing the torx screws was unable to ultimately separate the two pieces (main body from purple cap assembly). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx -
