Having problems removing separator on Rainbow Vacuum....

\015 I'm having problems removing the separator, it turns counter clockwise and clockwise while holding onto the separator....help, it really need cleaning. Thanks!\015

Not a good sign. If your Rainbow is SE or newer - separator should not spin freely.

Some may recommend torch but I am afraid that you may end up melting some plastic parts so be careful. I'd say put a wrench on the nut, hold the separator and press it towards the motor (thus holding the armature as much as it is still possible) and then hit the wrench that is on the nut with another one - create momentum.

If this does not work - you can use pliers to destroy the separator completely so you would gain access to another nut that is under the separator so you can hold the armature with another wrench.

I can not guarantee 100% that you will succeed as sometimes those nuts are so rusted that you have to have the armature held in a vise.We usually disassemble the motor so we can hold the armature by hand or in a vise but if you do not want to go that far into the motor - use described above method - maybe it will work.

Bisell Healthy home vacuum stopped working. The troubleshooting guide said there could be a problem in the connection at the handle. None of the phillips screwdrivers we have seem to work in removing the screw that holds the handle to the vacuum. What size phillips screw driver should we be using? If the screw is stripped, how can we get it out to replace it since it is not easily accessible in the handle?

You should use a p2 size phillips. there is only one screw right in the center that holds the handle assy on. frequently that screw backs out and allows the handle to slide back and loose connection. make sure the handle is tightly pressed in and the ... Vacuums

VACUUM REPAIR I have a Hoover Savvy upright, windtunnel, bag/bagless vacuum (model U8150-900). I was vacuuming my room and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise, then notice the roller brush isn't spinning. Thinking too much hair was caught I separated it from the rod and hose to clean it out, but noticed that the roller brush didn't move at all while I was cleaning it. I've cleaned the brush before and it would roll around with little effort, but this time I couldn't move it at all. I have a Rainbow E series. The separator is broken. I removed the acron nut but the separator won't come off. Is it ok to pry it off from bottom?

It's ok to pry on it if you're careful. Tap it too, use a screwdriver handle and just go around it and tap judiciously. When you're prying, be sure that if something is going to break it's the separator and not the machine housing.Clean t ... Rainbow E series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum

On the DC07, the entire cyclone assembly must be removed to empty the dust, debris, etc. collected when vacuuming. On the top of the cyclone is a "trigger" that you lift with your finger to release the bottom catch, which allows a clear flap to open on the "clear bin," thus letting all the debris fall out. My problem is when you lift the finger trigger, it does not release the catch on the bottom. Since the catch won't release, I cannot remove the entire clear bin either from the cyclone.Any sug

Hi. We've got a Dyson DC17 "Animal". It's clogged, and we are unable to separate the purple cyclone cap from the main cyclone body to get to the problem. We've heard of 4 torx screws that take some interesting tactics to access. I've been through this thing with a flashlight, and torx tools for a protracted period, and even after removing the torx screws was unable to ultimately separate the two pieces (main body from purple cap assembly). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx -

Dyson vacuum I have a DC07 vaccuum. The problem I am having is that the front does not want to stay down as I vaccuum and I continuously have to keep stepping on the front to make it go back down to the floor.
