Having problems with your Rainbow E series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum ?

Power Switch How do I get the power switch out to replace it? I have a D4C model. Rainbow/Rexair. Is there a place where I can get a parts breakdown of the vacuum cleaner? Steve

This is not that hard:
1. - remove gasket (it is glued so you may end up damaging it)
2. - remove 4 screws holding baffle

3. - under it you will see 4 more screws holding cap

4. - Four more screws and you will remove cap cover
3faddd0.jpg
5. - cut the cable tie, make a note how wires are connected, use flat screw driver to press on the latches holding the switch in while pushing onto the switch OUT. Tension will not let the latches pop back in.

6. - reassemble in the reverse order.
NOTE:
Switch - if you have old style switch installed you will need to push something into each hole next to the wires to release them. There is a cooper lip in each hole that you have to bend a bit to release each wire. Installing new style switch (with 4 wires) - attach one power cord wire to one blue switch wire and another to another blue switch wire. Attach one motor and one power nozzle cord receptacle wire to one black and another pair to another black wire.
Gasket - use weatherstripping glue to glue motor gasket back (you can get some in almost any automotive store)
Need parts - visit our store HERE.

No diagrams - sorry. It is Rexair, Inc. intellectual property and we can not use them...

Good Luck
:-)

Can you send me a diagram so I can put it back together or tell me where I can get a service manual. The only part I am having trouble with is the metal piece inside that engages the power drive. I had the vacuum cleaner question about the canister and the wand/powerhead... the Kenmore Progressive Vacuum canister model 116.25812 and the canister not powering off without unplugging the vacuum. The solution I received that they both run on their own switch so it is normal makes sense. However, is there a power switch on the canister anywhere? The only way for the canister to be turned off is by unplugging it. Any ideas? One would think there would be a switch. I am new to fixya and hope

Hoover Upright Vacuum model U5470-900 - The On/Off switch on the handle does not properly engage the power switch deeper in the handle assembly. It appears to ride over the lower switch and doesn't engage it to operate it. If I play with it, I can get it to maybe turn on the vacuum, but, then the upper handle switch won't turn it off. Our current workaround is to use the power cord for on/off operation.

I have a Eureka Upright vacuum (4800 Series). When I try to start it by turning the switch on, it wont. For few days, I was able to get around this problem by repeatedly turning the switch on and off until it turned on but that does not work any more. Could it be something related to the switch it self or the power cable. My wife mentioned that one of my kids might have pulled the power cable too hard (at the back of the vacuum). Any help to solve this problem will be very much appreciated. Tha

Have Dyson DC 14. When tilt to vacuum, the handle and coiled hose comes away from the unit. The problem started when the little purple ridged curved part on front of vacuum cleaner right below handle came loose and a spring fell out from somewhere--don't know where. I pushed on the purple ridge part and it snapped back on. Now, can't get it loose again, don't know where the spring goes, and handle still comes loose from vacuum.

110-220V Dear Sir, I purchased a kirby sentria vacuum cleaner from ebau two weeks ago. I currently resid in the UAE with 220V power. Can you please let me know how can i assess the damage? If this model has a switch from 110 to 220V IS there a solution with transfromer or motor to make it work? Thank

Kirby Vacuum Hi Bruce, In my opinion, yes the Kirby would be worth it, as long as you are not replacing the motor. The switch would be the most expensive part besides the motor that would need to be replaced. The switch costs USD 49.99, the cord is roughly $39.99, and the carbon brushes are $29.99. I can easily walk you through any of these repairs should you need help. Kirby's are great vacuum cleaners, that usually last 30+ years. Brand new these machines sell in the US for $1600 or more,

I have an Easy-Flo central vac unit. The handle on the electric hose has a switch on the handle. With the switch on ''O'' in the center, it's off. On the left, is the ''I'' position. The vacuum runs but the power brush doesn't. On the right is the ''II'' position. The switch won't flip that way. It feels stuck.
