Having problems with your Rainbow E series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum ?

Unable to remove round filter in bottom due to bolt not secure inside vacuum and it is just spinning so I can't remove nut holding on filter, but cannot see how to remove top of vacuum to get at other end of nut.

Answers :

If you are talking about the acorn nut that secures the separator to the motor shaft, it can be removed with a small (or even a big, for that matter) air or electric impact wrench with the proper sized socket. Find a mechanic friend who has one, make sure it is set to UNDO (anti clockwise) and give it a short burst. The motor has sufficient inertia that the wrench will undo the nut in one or two tries. If a couple of bursts does not do it, you will really have to take the vac to a service shop. Although this method has never failed for me. Clean up the threads of corrosion, if any, until the nut threads on freely.
I am not familiar with late model Rainbow vacuum's. However, I suggest the following:
\015\012Since you havn't found out how to get to the other side, can you grab the bolt with a pair of needle nose pliers to remove???
\015\012Alternatively, press a screw driver against the bolt pressing it to the side and try to remove.
\015\012You might try to cut the bolt with a pair of dikes
\015\012It is strange that you cant change a filter without this major work.
\015\012there will likely be another volunteer question catcher take your question and has experience with this issue. Dont try mine until others have had a chance to respond.
\015\012Thanks for your interest in FixYa.com
\015\012May I suggest you look the machine over closely before you remove the nut and bolt assembly.

I have an old Progressive vacuum cleaner that says "Hepa Filter" and "Whisper Belt". Not sure what the model # is. Miele Cat & Dog vacuum gets VERY hot and is VERY loud. Hose has no restrictions and I have changed the dust compartment (motor) filter and the exhaust filter. It still gets hot when I run it with the top open and all filters removed, so I'm guessing the problem is with the motor. Should I be going into the motor compartment? If so, what am I looking for?

Hi\015\012\015\012The fact that it gets very hot could be due to a number of issues.,but the fact that it started making a very loud noise at the same time suggests that there might be more problems maybe brushes etc.\015\012\ ... Miele S514 Solaris Bagged Canister Vacuum

On the DC07, the entire cyclone assembly must be removed to empty the dust, debris, etc. collected when vacuuming. On the top of the cyclone is a "trigger" that you lift with your finger to release the bottom catch, which allows a clear flap to open on the "clear bin," thus letting all the debris fall out. My problem is when you lift the finger trigger, it does not release the catch on the bottom. Since the catch won't release, I cannot remove the entire clear bin either from the cyclone.Any sug

Last night as I was vacuuming, I noticed that the belt stop indicator light was on. I pulled out the hair that had gotten tangled around the brush in hopes of solving the problem. It didn't change things. I then unscrewed the entire bottom piece to take out the brush roller. I removed hair from the end piece of the brush roller and reattached the belt; however, I cannot figure out where the microchip is supposed to go so that I can reassemble the base piece by screwing it back together. No vacuum My Floormate has plenty of air moving, but no vacuum at the nozzle. When I turn it on, the filter hops up to the black rubber "intake", rather than staying in its spot.
