Having problems with your Rainbow E series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum ?

How do I get the motor out of the power nozzle on the E-series?

\015 I took it to a backyard vacuum repair man because I don't have a rainbow dealer within 100 miles and he said he couldn't figure out how to get it apart. It looses most of the motor speed every time the head changes direction. There are no obstructions and everything spins fine when it isn't on the carpet. It looks like there is a spot for two screws, which are not there (repair man may have left them out) but the plastic won't come apart and I am scared to pry it with a screw driver. Is there a secret?\015

Power nozzle on E-series won't start when cold unless the red 'reset' button is pressed multiple times while also holding the trigger to 'warm it up'...this is w/the power nozzle off the floor - no restriction on it turning. Once it's been running and then turned off the button must be pressed w/the trigger to get it to run - again w/the nozzle off the floor. It also seems to shut off too easily while vacuuming. I replaced the motor, which didn't fix it. Is the reset switch next on my list? T

I have a Kirby Dual Sanitronic '50' Vacuum Cleaner I bought in 1966. The motor does not start when I attach the belt lifter of the rug nozzle. When I remove the rug nozzle and detach the belt from the motor fan shaft the motor starts when I depress the nozzle switch and the power switch . Seems like the brushes in the motor are worn out. I do not have a manual for this unit. Can you assist me as to what newer unit is this compatible to and the problem I'm having at present??
