Having problems with your Rainbow E series Canister Wet/Dry Vacuum ?

Rainbow Hi: I took my unit apart to clean it. I was careful to put it back exactly as I took it apart. Now it won't start. I also need a new filter. I rinsed it out but it still stinks.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. The best way is to check your owner’s manual to see the trouble shooting guide of which may help you. It could be a loose wire; or the separator could be on too tight, I am going to give you the Rainbow / RexAir Factory phone # so that you can check with cust serv or their serv tech support. Took my miele canister vacuum cleaner in for repair because the cord had a break in it creating a short. He said it also needed an inter filter ($12.29) and the carbon brushes were worn out ($21.95). Is that possible? Also wanted to service the motor and put in a new seal ($49.95) Shouldn't that include the inter filter and carbon brushes?

Unbeknownst to me, someone took the bag out of my Kenmore Progressive vacuum and failed to replace it. I have been vacuuming without a bag for months, and today the vacuum stopped sucking. When I opened up the front to replace the bag, tons of dirt and dust came pouring out. I thoroughly cleaned the vacuum, put in a new bag, but still no sucking power. Just dust coming from the rear vents where one of the filters is. Is the vacuum ruined, or is it a simple solution of buying a new filter?

I have a Eureka Contour model 2900 type A upright vacuum, the roller works fine nothing clogged, took it apart motor blade is free of debris, no suction from tube and blasts OUT air from the front HEPA filter location. I have a Kenmore 116.36932 (upright-bagless vacuum) that the motor protector by-pass valve has opened. I've clean out the area between the agitator brush where the flexible extension hose starts. There was some blockage there. I checked the rest of the system (extenstion hose, back filter area, pipe area to canister and area to side filter. Do you have suction through the tools? Does it look like it picks up when it runs? 92L3-W this unit was fine when new, did a good job, after a few months it got very loud. it is so loud you need ear plugs to use it. i have checked and cleaned it. there is'nt any visible problem with it. after cleaning and changing all filters it still is very loud a lot more than when it was new.
