Having problems with your Riccar 8650/8625 s Vacuum ?

The motor on my riccar 8650 is very loud. is there brushes that can be replaced?

Answers :

Your. 8650 is likely well over 20 years old. It has carbon brushes in the motor that may need replaced but your best bet Is to take it to your Riccar dealer to diagnose it or you might replace the wrong thing. You have a very durable long lasting machine obviously but there are minor things that need occasional service to keep it running properly for many more years. This series started with the 8600 models of which I still have many brought in for annual service. There has been an 8700 and 8800 series and now the latest 8900 series which has been out well over 10 years.

Noise My Dyson DC08 is making a loud, rough, vibration/noise that seems to be coming from the from the rotating brush housing. I replaced the old belt which was several years old and slipping. When I run the motor with the new belt removed the machine sounds normal. The bearings on the rotating brush seem to be running smoothly when turned by hand both when out of the brush holder and when installed in the machine. I can't find anything rubbing on the belt or rotating brush. I applied a bit o

I have a Filter Queen Majestic 360 and am having problems with the powerhead. There is a loud rattling noise in the powerhead, especially when I vacuum thicker carpet. I have replaced the motor, roller brush, and belt, but the rattling remains. It sounds like it is coming from the roller brush area, and when I turn the powerhead over, it rolls free and sounds fine. Any thoughts?

Replacing a belt on the Riccar 8850...I see how the brush assembly will work with the new belt. But I don't see how a new belt will turn on the small rod extending from the motor. Is there a pully missing?

There is not a pulley missing, when the belt is tight the shaft will turn the belt but when the belt loses elasticity it will slip on the shaft when being used on the carpet. Replace the n\012belt at least once or twice per year. ... Riccar 8850 Vacuum

I have had my Bissell Healthy Home for just over a year. I use it once or twice a week on five area rugs and two small bedrooms with wall to wall carpet. Just recently, the motor started to sound extremely loud and it smells like it's burning. The vacuum still picks up everything and all the brushes are turning. Advice? I really like this vacuum and would really like to fix it rather than replace it!

My bissell model 18Z6 has developed a loud noise and vibration when the brush is running. I have removed the brush assy and cleaned all the hair, etc but still the noise. I ran the brush motor with the belt disconnected and all seemed ok, but of course there was no load on the motor. I suspect a problem with the brush assy bearings or axle or both but I hate to just throw parts at the problem. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Bissell 6595 problems with roller brush. I've had this happen with two of the same model. Each one didn't last more than seven months! First, it became loud when vacuuming, then there was a burning smell. When you try to replace the belt, you see that won't do any good because the fitted end of the brush is melted. Kirby Vacuum Hi Bruce, In my opinion, yes the Kirby would be worth it, as long as you are not replacing the motor. The switch would be the most expensive part besides the motor that would need to be replaced. The switch costs USD 49.99, the cord is roughly $39.99, and the carbon brushes are $29.99. I can easily walk you through any of these repairs should you need help. Kirby's are great vacuum cleaners, that usually last 30+ years. Brand new these machines sell in the US for $1600 or more,

I replaced the belt on my Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum and the brush roller rubs and makes a very loud noise when turned on. I have gone exactly by the manual instructions and made sure the belt and end caps were on correctly, but the bristles still rub the back and it makes a very loud noise. Without the brush roller in the vacuum, it sounds and runs normal. What could the problem be?

What causes these things to become unbearably loud? We've cleaned evey filter on the machine, pulled every speck of hair and lint off the brushes, changed the belt, no clogs anywhere. I've totally (and I mean totally, down to the brushes on the motor!) torn this thing down and put it back together with no difference.
