Having problems with your Roomba Robotic Floor Bagless Vacuum ?

Roomba Discovery My Roomba Discovery seems to work fine, mechanically, but it no longer seems to collect any dust. (The collection bin remains empty after the Roomba has circulated around the floor for quite a while). The brush has been replaced and spins normally. Does anyone have an idea why this machine's vacuum function no longer seems to work? I would appreciate any feedback. Jeremy

Answers :

Did you replace the filter? when you remove the dust bin there is a small filter that needs to be cleaned, or replaced. You can buy a maintenance kit that replaces the brushes and filters as well, its good to replace them all regularly

The problem has been getting worse. It works, then cuts off. Then works and cuts off. Making sure the canister is not full. Time b/w it working is getting longer and longer. Almost seems this time when I change the outlet it is plugged into it works. But then shuts off quicker than it was doing before. I'm getting very frustrated.

I have a Roomba Discovery. In the past, I had to replace the charging dock. Then the battery died so I did not use it for two years. I finally bought a new battery and used the Roomba. It worked great. It did not find the docking station, and died. I have been charging it and the red light pulsates, but after 16 hours, it still is not charged...any ideas?

My Roomba Discovery 4210 seems to be dead. Specifically, with or without a battery, and whether on the charging station or plugged directly into the charging unit, I see no lights on the display whatsoever. This unit has a history of killing batteries, but now seems like it is completely dead. I understand that the batteries themselves contain fuses; is there some way to bypass the battery (for now) to verify whether the unit itself is completely dead? I should also note that this is the sec

Roomba Discovery Roomba is fully charged and cleaned with sensor wiped clean. When turned on it it sounds normal and commences to go, but it then acts like it is putting on the breaks, spins, tries to go and manages a short distance and breaks again, just not making any progress because it keeps breaking after a foot or so and turns and tries again. Sometimes is gets so stuck from moving forward at all, like it is stuck in one spot just trying to go while seemingly surrounded by barriers. Somet

My scooba seems to work fine but no longer makes the beeping noise. Several weeks ago the beep was sounding very strange almost like a battery was dying. Now it's not making any noise at all. Is this the beginning of more problems or can the machine function just fine without the beeps? If not then how can I fix it?

Your speaker went out. It could be totally isolated. You're not going to be able to determine what's wrong with your Scooba if something does happen, though, because without those beep codes, there's no way for the robot to communicate with you. ... iRobot 5900 Scooba Robotic Wet/Dry Vacuum

My 400 series Discovery Roomba will no longer charge. It shows a green "charged" light, but when I hit clean, all lights/vacuum, etc just go out and it stops. Irobot says that the entire unit needs to be replaced, but it has to have something to do with the charging mechanism. Any Ideas? I've tried the system reset, and removing/replacing the battery. No effect. The robot doesn't give me the "uh-oh" beeps to be charged. It just stops and goes dead.

I have a Miele S1721 Powerhouse upright vacuum. When the belt broke I took it into the shop (because when i tried to replace the belt, the tension was so tight I couldn't get it back together!!). My Discovery 4210 Roomba will run normally for about 20 minutes on a smooth, wooden floor. It then begins the following sequence: run forward a few inches, turn in a tight counter-clockwise circle a few revolutions, stop, power off a few seconds, power up, repeat cycle from forward run. The sequence can be repeated seemingly endlessly if I don't turn off the power manually. I've replaced the motor, and led revolution sensor system on the left drive wheel.
