Having problems with your Sebo Automatic X1 Bagged Upright Vacuum ?

I need please a belt for the brushes the larger one but may be better to replace the smaller one as well. I can see how to replace the small one very easily but not sure how to get the new one onto the end of the big sprocket. Please can you help I have the vac disassembled ok just waiting to get the belt to reassemble it. thank you Colin White SEBO AUTOMATIX X1

As you know, there are two belts - the pulley device between the motor and the brush roller is the sensor that measures the drag on the brushes and operates the automatic height adjuster to maintain constant drag. To the left of that double pulley (viewed from the front) is the electronic circuit board - note that it has a sensor that locates within the pulley device, be careful not to damage it.

\015\012At the left end of the motor cover, the drive cog is concealed by a small cover. Lift this cover out vertically, noting how it locates in the frame for when you come to put it back. Next, although not essential, it helps to remove the metal lever because if it falls out when you're not looking you may later be uncertain about how to locate the small coil spring. So slide that lever out towards the motor, noting how the spring locates.

\015\012NEXT: Undo the two screws holding the circuit board (take care the washers don't slip away). Then undo the four screws holding the double pulley. Once that's free, you'll be able to change the belts.
Re-assembly is simply the reverse of the above process.

I have a Eureka 4870GZ. It turns on, but the brush roller doesn't move. The belt looks fine. I do have an extra belt and would try replacing the old belt, but I can't get the old one off the motor shaft or the new one on. I called Eureka customer service. The lady said there's supposed to be a small space between the motor shaft and the outside edge of the vacuum where I can slip the old belt off and the new one on. I don't see it. Well there is no belt, and not sure what the rubber would be from, everything is plastic or metal. Unless it is really an electrical smell, which means the motor is going bad.\015\012\015\012 ... Hoover Vacuums

My older Dyson DC14 (the purple one) early model with a clutch on the beater bar belt needs a clutch replacement. The bar has been cleaned and there are no worn or damaged parts so I conclude that the clutch at the motor end of the belt needs to be replaced. I was replacing the belt on my Eureka Smartvac 4870 and one of the felt gaskets (or part of it) popped out. I thought I put it in correctly, but the first I used it after replacing the belt, the gasket got mangled by the brush. I'm wondering how important it is to get fixed; is it a part I can pick up anywhere and fix myself? Thanks for the help.

I'm no expert but if you mean the felt on the roller, you have to replace the roller (expensive, esp. for such a minor part). So. I found some felt with adhesive in the craft section at Wal-Mart, trimmed it to fit and done deal. Felt reduces friction. ... Eureka Smartvac 4870 Bagged Upright Vacuum
