The vacuum was connected and it is like when a fuse go bad, just like that it won't turn on anymore. Is there a switch that needs to be reset or a fuse to be replace? How do you do it?? Thanks

On-off switch My problem is finding a source for an on-off switch for an electrolux vacuum sweeper model 2100. I have replaced the broken toggle and now the sweeper turns on but only as long as the outside button is depressed. It appears that the on-off switch itself is broken as the switch does not ''hold'' when the toggle is activated. It seems to return to it's ''off'' setting as soon as the toggle is released. What ''holds'' the switch in its ''on'' position? Does it depend only on the on-

The last time the vacuum cleaner was used the outlet sparked causing it to smoke when turning on vacuum cleaner. I replaced the outlet and plugged it in and things seemed o.k. Today I turned on the vacuum, it stayed on for a mili second and went off. I checked the switch on the vacuum and it showed voltage coming and going, but would not turn on again. I checked all the wires in the area of the switch all seemed o.k. I thought maybe there might be a short in the cord. When I went to plug

I was changing a light bulb with one of those metal extension rods that unscrew and screw back in the replacement bulbs. It evidently didn't seat correctly and pulled off the bulb and created a quick "poof" type electrical short. I have switched out that bad bulb with a new one and can't get either the fan or lights to work. There doesn't appear to be a reset switch. I also swirched out the wall switch to see if that would make a difference and it does not. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreci

Not sucking We have an Oreck XL and today it is blowing out dust instead of sucking it up. I just replaced the belt and about 6 months ago, we took it to our Oreck dealer and had it rehauled. I opened it up to check all and it all looked fine. Then I tuned on the machine while unzipped and noticed that the bad does not inflate as it used to. What can I do? Thanks, Connie [email protected]

You probable have a clog in the handle tube, or at the bottom, either by the brush or in the neck where the handle goes into. Unscrew that big black nut and pull the handle off of the bootom asm, then you can check it out and see where the clog is. ... Vacuums

I test a motor by taking an old vacuum cleaner cord with alligator clips on the ends and hook it up to the motor simply bypassing the entire vacuum cleaner. If it runs then I know the problem is not the motor. ... Simplicity Vacuums

Shopvac 90L400 quit working (4 years old). Thought the switch was bad but not the problem. I read that there is a fuse link in the motor that frequently burns up. I tried to take motor apart but not sure of the process. I was able to get to the motor but cannot pull it out of the armature.
