Have a Sears shop vac, mod 113.172. The motor doesn't take in

\015 I have a Sears shop vac, mod 113.172. The motor runs but doesn't **** and there is a burnt smell. I was sucking up some leaves at the time the problem started. I think the hose became clogged and the motor over-stressed.\015

I have a Sears Model 38.179220 wet/dry vac. It blows dust and air out from the dirt chamber when running. Seems there is no pressure relief for the air being **** in so it builds up in the chamber and blows out past the cover gasket. I cannot find how to open a pressure relief port to equalize the pressure.

Not exactly a blow gun. Convertible blower/vac - Sears Craftsman. Wire broke off ONE brush in the motor. Paid about $90 for the vac - Sears lists the WHOLE motor as one part - $88. Have requested brushes (they are provided with a lot of my 'cheap' Harbor Freight tools) but no go. Just get the canned reply - buy the whole motor. Actually got it working again... CAREFULLY drilled and tapped a 4-40 screw into the brush and soldered the lead to that... Always a way, isn't there?

I have an old Shop Vac model 3331.5. This is a 12 gallon 1.5 hight peak shop vac with a detachable blower. After many years I decided to use the blower feature, but have lost the lost the manual. Question; how do I attach the hoses to the blower? The motor has that cap on it the direct the flow of air in one direction and the wide hoses do not fit over it. I may be missing a part, but I would think the directional cap would have to come off anyway.

Remove the cap that directs the air and insert the hose in there. ... Vacuums

I have a NUTONE central vac, when I turn on the power, It sounds like its grinding glass and doesnt suction. Could it be that broken glass got caught in the motor and all I need to do is clean it, or is this the sound of a failed motor?

More likely it's something in the fan. However, I suggest taking it to a vacuum repair shop to make sure. Something could have got into the fan system and is making a racket, but the motor itself won't crunch up glass. ... Electrolux Central Vacuum
