\015 I was sucking water off a basement floor it was working for a few seconds and then it started to spit some of it back out. so i cleaned the canister out to see if that would work. the vac has suction and the hose isnt clogged, tried it again but did the same thing should i be using the filter for water too?\015

Answers :

Don't use the paper filter for sucking water. It can ruin it. It will still be usable if you just set it out to dry but there is no reason to use it for water in my experience. I have a sears shop vac and it will fill up more than half full without ejecting the water.

Suction Problem I just borrowed the Hoover Steam Vac Deluxe w/ 5 brush agitator from my neighbor and it worked ok for the first few minutes, although the suction would stop and go. My Shop Vac (Brand) Mdl#934-16-11 keeps shutting off while I'm dry vacuuming. I can turn it back on then it will shut off again. The filter is spotless, so that's not the issue. There isn't any reset buttons. The only thing I can think of is that the float for wet vacuuming is somehow being sucked up causing the the motor to be tripped off. The vacuum is only about a year and a half old and used only sparingly. Help!

I have a Miele S1721 Powerhouse upright vacuum. When the belt broke I took it into the shop (because when i tried to replace the belt, the tension was so tight I couldn't get it back together!!).
