Having problems with your Shop Vac Vacuums ?

We have a series 90S, 2.5 gallon Shop Vac. We used it for the first time to try and **** up water in the basement. Each time we turned it on, it would shut down after collecting less than 1" of water. We had to remove and squeeze out the foam sleeve each time, before it would work again (nowhere near 2.5 gallons!). Any ideas? Is the plastic sleeve that can move up and down inside, the float (poorest manual I've ever seen!)? Should there be a ball float that we're missing? Thanks for any s

Answers :

Remove the foam sleeve when using the unit to pick up water.\015\012The float is in there to indicate when the unit has "enough" water in it. The float rises with the amount of water and when the water reaches a certain height the float is "pulled" up into the air exhaust hole causing a change in the sound of the unit. This is the audio indicator that it is time to empty the water.\015\012If the foam gets wet with water, it closes off the air almost like the float does and the suction of the unit is reduced.

I have a Bissell Steam Cleaner that is not sucking up the water when cleaning. I used a full container of water and when it was empty I emptied out the water, only to find very little dirty water in it. I noticed the window, as i used it, seemed like it wasnt sucking up the water. I took the plastic cover off to clean it (it didnt look very dirty in the first place), an i noticed that the grey plastic flap was on but not moving up or down. My Kenmore sewing machine timing has gotten off. I am sewing a big upholstery project and it starting bunching thread from the bobbin. My sunbeam water cooler model #YLR2-5-67H3 has been sitting unplugged for 3 years. I moved, plugged it in and put a water bottle on top and water went all over the floor. I unplugged it, (read the instructions on the front, duh) and it still leaks on the floor. What should I do? I put it over the sink, emptied it, checked the drain plug, tried running a glass full of tap water through each tap. Only the room temperature one would work.

One of the rubber connecting hoses inside it has dried and aged so the pressure of the water from the bottle made it burst.\012\012\012You will need to open it, find the defective hose and replace it - a 2 hour relatively easy job. The hardest ... Sunbeam Vacuums

Kirby Sentria Hi, I have a new Sentria & used it for the first time today. It was going fine & then I could smell smoke & it started to make a loud noise so I turned it off quickly. If I turn it on it immediately starts making the noise again & I can see it is all lit up inside like something is burning or sparking. I have checked the roller & it is moving & I have checked the fan which is moving & doesn't appear to be damaged in anyway. This product is from the US & we are in the UK & we are us

Sounds like the motor burned up. not sure if travel adapters will handle a large load like a motor, around 8 or amps. power needs in US are 110 volts ac, 60 hertz.I believe UK is 220 volts and 50 hertz. usually when a vac is brought to eu ... Kirby Vacuums

I was vacuuming my room and all of a sudden I hear this loud noise, then notice the roller brush isn't spinning. Thinking too much hair was caught I separated it from the rod and hose to clean it out, but noticed that the roller brush didn't move at all while I was cleaning it. I've cleaned the brush before and it would roll around with little effort, but this time I couldn't move it at all. After removing hair and string I put the vacuum back together and started it up, but the noise continued,

I just bought a shop vac to **** up the winter slop in the garage. the first time I used it, it worked perfectly but the 2nd and 3rd times I used it, it spits water from the exhaust. Why? It doesn't seem to have a plug/clog and I have the foam sleeve plus the circular paper filter on it, as per directions. Help!

I got my bissell for $7.50 from a thrift store, if you can believe THAT. Used it for the first time today after reading the manual online first. After filling the clean water bladder full of hot water and setting everything up the way I wanted, proceeded to turn things on and go for it. Poor suction...continued Wow, thanks for answering so quickly! To answer your question, yes, there is suction at the screen, but it is very weak. I keep that screen clean. As a side note, I noticed that when I remove the top clear plastic cover (that would be part # 37 on the diagram, as far as I can tell) there is decent suction coming from the intake there--part 36? 30? it's hard to tell. But with the cover on, I feel no suction (from where it sucks up the water directly from the carpet),

Wish I had it in my shop, it is hard to figure your problem. I do know that you must have something out of place and you may have to take it apart to find it. You may feel some suction there at the top of the clear nozzle, but maybe it isn't strong ... Hoover F6212-900 / F6215-900 SteamVac Agility Upright Vacuum

Replacement parts... I've got a 3594 Bissell and the belt has come completely off. This process is getting expensive, as it usually takes 30 minutes to completely vacuum the house. Is ther
