Having problems with your Tristar SB Steam Buggy Vacuum ?

Steam buggy water reservoir cap has apparently been cross threaded, and cannot be removed by twisting or other "encouragement." If I cut it off, where can I get a replacement? Can the machine be used as is by taking the insert out of the cap and filling the reservoir through the opening? Is there a current manufacturer of this product?

Answers :

You need to completely annihilate the plastic cap by cutting it off and destroying the remaining plastic to expose the stainless steel insert/plug. You can use either a pipe wrench or 11mm wrench to turn the insert counter-clockwise to unscrew. You will need to use some force to get the plug out since it's basically glued shut by lime deposits in your tap water.

Do not move the slotted cap or else this will need to be adjusted so that all your water doesn't squirt out before turning to steam.

Next time only use distilled water. Store with the cap off. Grease the inner and outer threads after every use and wipe it off completely before use so it doesn't mix with the steam and turn to vapor.

First try and use a channel locks to remove the cap. It might not work right if you remove the insert as there won't the same tank pressure. It may work, but it also may not due to pressure. If it has a motor pump to pump the steam, then it may still work

I cannot get the sprays from either the bottom or the handpieces to work. I only get a short "gurgle" of fluid when I first press the controls. I have cleaned both the top and bottom cap and insert parts, and I have turned the machine off and on numerous times, have allowed it several minutes to warm up. But still no luck. Dyson DC 14 hose has no suction, with or without brush attachments. Hot air shoots out from the base of the canister when I try to use the hose. I cleaned the top filter, but can't figure out how to remove the hepa filter to clean it without destroying the case. It looks like it might take three hands to insert pennies and "flip" the case open as is suggested on a youtube video for a different model. Would this even help, assuming I could get the thing open?

My Hoover SteamVac has been doing a wonderful job but in two instances, after emptying the dirty water and reattaching the reservoir, the machine has lost suction. The first time I was able to make it work again after taking it apart and putting it back together about 10 times. I don't know what I did that fixed it but as long as it worked again, I was happy. But it's happened again and I can't get it to vacuum. I can see that it isn't clogged. Can you please help me????

Hi, I have a Sebo X4 which is almost 3 years old. I haven't had any problems with it until the last couple of days when I notice a slight screeching noise when in upright position, coming from the roller mechanism area. If I slightly push the sebo forwards it gets worse, if I tip it back it stops. If I take the roller out and switch on, there is no noise. I have always been careful not to tip the machine forwards when using the hose, but I recently lent it to a friend whose hoover had broken do

I have a Polti Vaporetto household steam cleaner that I bought 16 years ago. I haven't used it for about 10 years because the connection between the steam er and the attachments doesn't work properly and it is difficult to use. The shop where I bought it no longer sells them and can't get them fixed anymore. I'm about to ditch it, but thought I would have another go at using it. (It was very expensive). Now I can't get the safety cap off so I can't fill it or test it. Any ideas on what I can do

I am still awaiting for your reply, [email protected], regarding water reservoir cap steam leaking is this normal or do I require a new cap or rubber ring, otherwise I will have to take my custome elsewhere. Many thanks.
