We bought a new home in march. It is a brand new home, with brand new First Alarm smoke/CO detectors. The very first night, we noticed the iving room (main) smoke alarm was "chirping". So we tried to replace the batteries, but when we did, all of the smoke alarms started going off (they are hardwired). We took out the new battery & dealt with the chirp. It is getting to be too much. So we are trying to fix it, but everytime we replace the batteries, the alarms are silent for a little bit, & then

My first proheat lasted four years so I bought a new one. After I used my Pro Heat for only the fourth time my first issue occured, the gear on the pump that runs the brushes came off, so I had the one from my old proheat, I just changed the gear spindle that is screwed to the pump and fixed that problem but now it will not pump water. That is why I bought a new proheat, I could not get the old one to pump even after a new pump and made sure all lines were not cloged.

My Dyson Root 6 made a loud banging sound, and now its motor emits a strong burning smell every time it's switched on. It runs for a second or two, making a lot of noise, and then stops. (Just bought a new battery for it, too - what a drag...) It's off warranty, and Dyson wants almost as much to fix it as a new one would cost. Is my Root 6 e-waste, or is there anything that can be done for it?

My hoover Wind Tunnel vacuum cleaner's motor spindle keeps overheating. Because of the high temperature, it keeps burning through belts (the big, wide ones). Please tell me why I should consider buying a dyson after 4 years mine has had to have new parts and now it is totally beyond fixing. So many parts have broken off of it and I can only use so much duct tape to repair. I need a new vacuum but I am very skeptical to invest again in a dyson.

I have a Filter Queen Majestic canister vacuum cleaner. At the end of the wand, a button to release the attachement not only broke, but also one eyehole on the wand where one nipple on the button falls into. So therefore a new button isn't going to fix the wand because there isn't a hole on one side of the area where the button falls in place for a nipple to secure the button in place. I don't want to take it to a repair shop 100 miles away and have them just put on a new belt. saw idea of smaller belt - what number? couldn't find suggested royal 104425001 belt.

I would not recommend a smaller belt. You will only wear the motor. This model series power nozzle needs to have a metal clip installed near the belt on the brush roller housing. I have White Speedylock Serger, model 1500 that will not work when I press the foot pedal. I thought it might be the pedal, so I ordered one on-line, but the new one does not make it work either. I have checked the needle and it is fine, not loose or broken. The presser foot is fine also.

VACUUM REPAIR I have a Hoover Savvy upright, windtunnel, bag/bagless vacuum (model U8150-900). The Handle Release Foot Pedal - Part #38434026 broke soon after purchase but I finally found a source to replace this item. The problem is that now that I have the repair part I cannot figure out how to remove the old pedal and install the new one. The housing appears to be one piece of solid plastic. Any ideas, PLEASE! Hi There I have got a Kirby 2 HG vaccum cleaner which is around 20 years old now. It was going really well until last week when one of the capacitors which are connected to the brushes blew up. There is two capacitors one for each brush. One of them completely blew to bits and the other one is still intact. My question is are they the same size and where do I get a new one from. I know it is an old machine, but I would like to fix it and get it going again. Any tips???
