Having problems with your Westinghouse WST1810 Canister Vacuum ?

Emptying vacuum This may sound really silly of me but I cannot remember how to open the thing up to empty it! Help!

\015\012There is a video on YouTube that shows how to open it.

The video is no longer active, but I figured it out anyway.

It is simply a hard pull out from the top of the silver container. The \012top will swing out and then you can take it off. I also pushed down a \012little bit, but I believe the main part to simply pull out. A fairly \012strong plastic tab holds it in place, so it took some force, but did not\012 break anything.

Hi, There is a high pitched whirring sound coming from lower part of the vacuum. When I tilt it toward me (while standing in the normal vacuuming stance) the sound sometimes lessens for a minute or so. I have tried the following things: -cleaned the two sponge filters -emptied the dirt receptacle -removed the roller and cleaned it -cleaned the brushes -the belt is not ragged and does not seem floppy -checked all of the airways for clogs (including removing the wheel base) Can you help?

Your looking for some dirt stuck in some thing you didn't check yet. with the roller out and the belt out of the way run it to see if it still makes the noise. if it does then you looking at the impeller or the motor bearing themselfs those bearin ... Bissell 3750 Lift Off Bagless Upright Vacuum

On the DC07, the entire cyclone assembly must be removed to empty the dust, debris, etc. collected when vacuuming. On the top of the cyclone is a "trigger" that you lift with your finger to release the bottom catch, which allows a clear flap to open on the "clear bin," thus letting all the debris fall out. My problem is when you lift the finger trigger, it does not release the catch on the bottom. Since the catch won't release, I cannot remove the entire clear bin either from the cyclone.Any sug

Lost suction I've only used this vacuum a few times, it's practically brand new. Now, one I turn it on, it sounds fine, and the hose feels as if it's getting some suction, but it's not strong enough to actually **** things up from the carpet into the canister. I have completely emptied the canister and bought a new filter. Nothing seems to help.

High pitch My Hoover fusion vacuum cleaner began making a high pitch sound that makes it very annoying to vacuum. I cleaned all the things I could clean. I even cut out all the hair that was entangled in the brushes. Any idea what is causing the sound. It sounds like an siren is going off.

The Hoover Fusion has design flaws in the motor, including a metal plate that is too thin to contain the forces acting on the motor, particularly the constant strong tension from the drive belt, and a plastic plate that is attached to the metal plate ... I have an older Oreck XL vacuum that sounds like it is running twice as fast as it should. I disassembled the entire vacuum, including disconnecting the motor wires, to clean out the hair, string, and other things. When I put everything back and connected all the wires, everything appears to work, including the light. The only problem is, it sounds extremely loud like the motor is running too fast. I have the Sharper Image EV-HD15 Cool Mist Humidier Ultrasonic 1.6 gal humidifier. I purchased it last year. Yesterday I took it apart to clean as per instructions. I feel that I may not have place the round housing (which is secured with 4 screws) back correctly. When I turned the machine on it made a whirring sound. I took the unit apart again and rotated that round piece moving the opening away from the opening on the tower. The whirring sound was reduced but there was still a sou

DYSON DC14 While vacuuming the living room, the rotating brush started making an awful loud grinding sound. We opened the intake port, cleaned the brush but to no avail sound still persists once you lower the vacuum handle in an attempt to clean. Was wondering if there was anything that can be done?

Take the bottom plate off and check the belt. Also, rotate the brush by hand - it should turn with only a moderate resistance from the belt, or very little if you take the belt off. If it is hard to turn, or if the belt is stripped-out right where it ... Vacuums

Hi I’ve got a Panasonic vacuum cleaner MC E468 1600W a few years old now but works well up to recent problem. Not picking up I checked the obvious things and found excessive air being sucked in around the hose housing at the back of the vacuum (as it enters the waste bag) On inspection it appears to me as if there should be some sort of gasket that may have perished and been sucked in, however I can’t identify any such part. Any thoughts on what the problem/solution may be will be appreciate

The hose on the back might be loose - check to see that the hose is not obstructing anything where it screws in at the back - or indeed the screws may be loose themselves; some of the MCE 468 models had an additional ring washer that sits between the ... Panasonic Vacuums

Every time I try to vacuum my apartment with my Dirt Devil Featherlite bagless vacuum, it shuts off before I have finished one or two rooms. I then have to wait 30 minutes before continuing. I had the vacuum for 2 months before exchanging it and it is doing the same thing with my new one. It seems to happen after the first time I empty the cannister. Any ideas?

Your motor in the vacum is getting hot.Thats why it shuts off.Its fitted with a shut off switch to stop you doing any damage to it.1 The reason for getting to hot is that you are filling the cannister to full.Try emptying it half.good luck. ... Dirt Devil Featherlite Bagless Vacuum M085845Vacuum

My electrolux oxygen canister cuts on and off. I have to open and close the vacuum, or take the base of the hose off and then re-insert. I have to do all these things before it will start up again. My Dyson Animal has good suction and works fine for actually picking up dirt, but when I use the vacuum with the roller, I hear a grinding/rumbling noise. Its only when I use the vacuum with the brush rotating. It does not happen hen I shut the roller brush off. The belt is fine. I cannot figure out what is wrong as there are no clogs, debris, or foreign objects stuck in the brush or in the belt. The noise seems to be the only issue. The vacuum picks up fine. No suction vacuum won't pick up -- I've checked the bag, hose...and it seems to have no sucking power. The internal hose may be jammed (I vacuumed up a lot of shredded paper), but nothing as far as I can stick in fingers in. I don't have a metal coat hanger to slip down, but I'm afraid that might tear the hose and then the darn thing won't work anyway. :o(
