Having problems with your Vacuums ?
I took off the cover on a proheat upright, to install the suction diverter flap. Guy at the shop told me I had to do this but I don't think it was really necessary. Anyway, I am having a real job getting the cover back on. The shampoo mix piston seems to be causing the problem seating the two halves correctly. I see no obvious "right: way to put the piston back in. can anybody help me.
Hey Richard. Turn the shampoo mix dial so the spiral is all the way at the top when you are looking at it from underneath. then, you want the piston to seat in the top groove of the knob. You want the piston's end that jets out to fit in the space right behind the knob. so you need to line up the shorter side in the groove on the knob and kinda roll it back into it's place. Then, turn the knob all the way down and now you can finish. Note: you need to prop up the rear end of the machine when fitting it together, it really helps, the front end of the cleaner on some of those models has "holding tabs" that might also be hindering the operation.. Also, be sure that the air tube that comes out of the fan opening on you motor is on the hole exactly straight in the rubber washer.. If not, then you wont have any water dispersement. If you hear sucking air after you put the lid back on, it isn't on right. I've been doing vacuums for 20 years, and still with that particular cleaner, I have to sometimes take it apart and reassemble it four or five times! Those are a pain. I really hope that any of this made any sense, it is hard to describe without visuals. Please, if I did help, take the time to leave feedback. It will really help my rating. Thank you. I am getting very little suction from the motor. The hose is clear, the bag new. When I open the bag cover, plug the hose in and turn the vacuum on, there is next to no suction from the motor. What do you think is wrong? How do I remove the cord retractor to get to the two screws that hold the back of the canopy cover?
Your problem is probably is you don't have a proper seal in your chasis. A vacuum has to be sealed tight or the air will leak out and the seal broken. Check around the whole body after the bag is in and check for any airflow noise. I could help more ... Vacuums

Water leak I just bought this steamer a few days ago, and already I am having problems, when I fill the water tank that your suppost to fill the water runs out before I even turn the machine on.
