Rainbow 2e Overheats... its the Electric Motor cooler fan......
\015 Hi,I have a Rainbow 2e with what seems to be a common ailment. Has anyone a solution? The little fan that presses on above the electric motor (that cools the motor) is pressed onto a 1/4 OD splined shaft thing... Its a horrible design... Perhaps you'd heard of this? I am ready to Attach it with PC7 while held 1/8" above the sealing surface.... Hoping its balanced well enough to stay put. Have you heard of anyone with a different approach? Thanks!John Westerdale\015
It is pressed on, that is why you have a splined shaft. If you use a socket or nut driver, you can knock it ino place with a hammer. But don't hit too hard. you don't want to damage the end.

My 20" Patton electric fan has stopped working. I use it for animal cooling and it operates in dusty conditions. I suspect that the motor is shot. Is it worthwhile to replace the motor and are motors even available?
You could just try to clean the motor out by taking it apart, and shining the shaft up. then put some motor oil/engine oil on the shaft. That will work 99% of the time. ... Vacuums

Replacement motor I purchase a replacement motor for a F5897-900 Hoover SteamVa Motor part # 43576197 or 27242051. The replacement motor has three electrical connectors + ground were as the orginal has two electrical connectors + ground. Do I ingnore the the thrid connector and hook up the wires to the same connectors as the orginal or do I have to do some rewiring.
The manual only show one wire from the motor going to the switch, the other going to the cord, then the ground wire. I would wire it the way your old motor was, could be that some models maybe were 2 speed and the other wire would be used for that. ... Vacuums

I have a Kirby Dual Sanitronic '50' Vacuum Cleaner I bought in 1966. The motor does not start when I attach the belt lifter of the rug nozzle.
