I have tried cleaning out pipes etc and even tried an old motor section I had in garage (replaced once under warranty as kept cutting out and they left old motor section here). Even the old motor section had same prob so this suggests its something in the rest of the vacuum cleaner (whats left after you have lifted off the green motor section and dust collection area if you see what I mean? Any advice weclome please.

I should have taken a photo of it before tearing out the old motor. Dyson DC23 Vacuum shut off and came on. Thought it was a problem at the electrical outlet as when moving plug it would come on again. Seen canister was full, emptied it and cyclone was quite plugged up so poked out the dirt. Had dog hairs in it as well as some ashes I had just vacuumed. Plugged unit in again and pressed switch. Will not come on. Tried another outlet. Is there a reset button somewhere or could the ashes have seized the motor. What can I try besides taking it to a repair sho

I'm trying to figure out which dyson vacuum is better, the DC14 or DC17. from what i read, the DC17 is the newer model of the DC14, the DC17 added an extra motor for the brush, but from the dyson site, the DC17 has less suction power. it went from 250AW (dc14) to 220AW (dc17). is that a significant difference that i should be worried about?
Hi,DC17 is much better than DC14. I always believe User's review are much better than what Features Company usually Displays.Read :-http://www.epinions.com/review/Dyson_DC17_Animal_Vacuum/content_404790546052 ... Vacuums

My older Dyson DC14 (the purple one) early model with a clutch on the beater bar belt needs a clutch replacement. The bar has been cleaned and there are no worn or damaged parts so I conclude that the clutch at the motor end of the belt needs to be replaced. I can find the part online but no instructions on how to disassemble the vacuum to get to and replace it. Dysons only advice is to give me the address and phone of the nearest service center.
