Having problems with your Dyson DC07 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum ?
Beater bar will not engage. belt ok, cannot find a clutch, what else?
\015 Dyson Animal 07-The rug beater bar will not engage. I have looked for a clutch but cannot find it. The belt seems to be ok. Any suggestions?\015
\015\012One possible problem could be a worn clutch. I just had the same problem. Before buying a new clutch assembly, I took the out the clutch just to make sure I could do it (the link previously mentioned is great: http://www.dysonmedic.com/DC07%20Folder/DC07%20Clutch%20replacement.html). In the process, I also opened the clutch at the wide end (two screws and a little retaining clip on the side - can watch a video as to how to disassemble the clutch here: http://www.ezvacuum.com/dyson-dc04-dc07-and-dc14-belt-pack-for-clutch-system-90251401-2-pack-p-2196.html?currency=USD). In the "lid" you will see a little black plate (looks like the same material that a car breakpad is made out of). If the clutch is the problem this plate will look a little worn down. It can be removed and flipped over. You'll get a few more years out of it. Of course, when the second side wears out, you'll have to get a new clutch (but by then maybe the the entire vac will need replacing anyway). Saved myself $40. Enjoy.

My older Dyson DC14 (the purple one) early model with a clutch on the beater bar belt needs a clutch replacement. The bar has been cleaned and there are no worn or damaged parts so I conclude that the clutch at the motor end of the belt needs to be replaced. I can find the part online but no instructions on how to disassemble the vacuum to get to and replace it. Dysons only advice is to give me the address and phone of the nearest service center. Can you help me?

I have the Eureka 4870 "The Boss" Smart Vac. The beater bar began to turn constantly and can't be shut by moving the Brush Roll Contol to Bare Floor position or the machine to the upright postion. It has also eaten two new belts. A local tech says he has seen this problem whereby the free-wheel assembly that makes contact with the belt to engage the beater bar is misalgned and cannot disengage. It is usually the chassis which would mean replacement of enough parts that would not be worthwhile

The Panasonic MC-V7515 has two belts. The local vacuum repair guy says he only has a part number for the drive belt, which is UB-9. How do I find a replacement for the other belt, the one which directly drives the beater bars? By the way, this vacuum has great suction, but otherwise is far inferior to my previous Panasonic vacuums. The cheaper models aren't a good buy--stick with the more expensive models.

Replaces the belt on dirt devil dynamite pluse model put everything back together started it and it burt the new belt up that fast. I put it around the beater brush and the metal bar I thought it should go around, yet it seemed like there should be something else there to put the belt on. What do you suggest? Motor is sparking and smells like burning rubber. When it first happened I thought the vacuum had something jamming the beater bar. That was the smell it had, like when the belt gets burned. But when we turned it over, it wasn't jamming. Took off the base plate and turned it on. The motor area is sparking and it makes a weird noise (I assume that is because the motor fails and restarts). I looked for loose wires, can't find any. I believe I need some sort of part replaced, maybe even a n

There is a high pitches nosie coming from my dyson. It mainly happens when the flooring type changes whilst hoovering. Everything else is ok.
