When to recharge batter

\015 Manual says on page 6 to only recharge when battery is fully or close to fully discharged but the quick start guide says to return battery to charger after each use. Which is correct?\015

Answers :

Generally with rechageable batteries, the first charge is critical for setting the life and capacity.
\015\012The strict rules are:
\015\0121) on the first charge, fully charge the battery without interuption for the full amount of time, (Usually 8 hours).
\015\0122) on the first use of the battery, fully discharge the battery without recharging it, At All.
\015\012These two rules set the charge capacity for the battery. To get the longest life and fullest charge out of your battery, don't fail to be patient with these.
\015\012After the first complete charge and complete discharge cycle, you may place your device on the charger whenever it's not in use. Eventually the battery will hold a stronger charge for a longer time, usually after three or four good uses. The battery should work well for about three or four years before you need to replace it.
\015\012Failing the two rules for the first charge and discharge, will require you to settle with lower performance of your device, or immediate replacement of your battery.
\015\012This information is usually misleading since buying more accessories, or another vaccum is in the best interests of the manufacturer.
\015\012Note: Sometimes rechargeable batteries do have manufacturing defects, and can be replaced under warranty of quality of workmanship. Since the battery cannot be tested before it's sold, getting a warrantee replacement is usually the best option in the event that your machine isn't performing properly.
Hi right to be honest both ways are correct, but if your using it every day then its best to put it back on the charger after every use, but the problem with this is that the battery never goes totally flat, so never does a full recharge this reduces the life of the battery by upto 50% so if you are using it regular and need it charged daily then its best to once a month let the battery go totally flat so that it wont even make a sound then do a full recharge.
Doing this will ensure the battery remains at peak performance and make it last longer.

If how ever your only using it say once a week then its best to only charge after the battery has gone flat due to the fact that it would remain on charge longer and cause the battery to over heat reducing the life span of the battery.

But witch ever method you use always let the battery go totally flat once a month then do full recharge this will prolong the life of the battery and ensure it keeps working at full power.
