Smartstrand carpet makes vacuums difficult to push
\015 I too found that after installing a Smartstrand carpet my Dyson Pet vacuum is very difficult to push or pull. No matter which direction I go on the carpet it takes a lot of effort. I saw another post that Dyson now has a manual height adjustment that recommend for this type of carpet.\015\012\015\012While I like the soft feel of this carpet, and the claimed durability, I also don't like the visible seams in this carpet. I have a very large room 16' x 53' and there are 4 seams running across the room and no mater how much we walk on it, or vacuum it, the seams still show. It's been over a month and no sign of them diminishing.\015
The seam problem could be an installation problem. It is important to pattern match any carpet with a pattern. If the carpet is a plush carpet, the seams should not be invisible, but not unsightly. If he carpet is a frieze, the seams should be hard to find. Any variance from these norms could mean a redo of the seams by a talented carpet installer. In a large room such as yours seams will never be invisible. \012

I have a Dyson all-floor model (not the ball). I recently replaced my carpet to a Frieze. Since replacing the carpet, the Dyson is extremely hard to push. It almost forms a "seal" with the carpet. Seems to work fine on Berber carpet and laminate floor. My husband has checked to make sure the brushes are working, hoses are not clogged and belts are OK. I've had it for about a year. It is virutally impossible to push on the new carpet. Any ideas?

Loud noise I have a brand new Dyson and it is great on all my floors except one of my area rugs when it starts making this really loud vibrating noise. I am not sure why - nothing is stuck in the roller or vacuum and it doesn't make it on any of my other rugs. Also it is really hard to push whereas all the other floors it just glides. I don't want to return it but I also don't want to hear this sound every time I vacuum.
This is the clutch as it jams up in the brush. Usually happens with rugs that are not secured to the floor. ... Dyson DC14 Animal Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum
With cleaning carpets with the Stowaway when the head gets a blockage it makes a high pitched whining sound and requires unblocking - then works fine. Now when vacuuming the head always makes the same sound when the head is against the carpet. you can also see that the rollers are slow or stopped. We have pulled the Stowaway virtually completely apart and checked for blockages as well as washed the filter and no difference. Any ideas?

On my hover U6616-900 the self propell work fine on the med setting on med height carpet, but when I go to low height carpet and height set on med the self propell does not pull the vacuum and it is hard to push. Also if I raise the height to the highest setting the self propell works correctly and appears to clen. Any ideas? S/N 090400184555, think this vacuum is maybe 5 years old and my wife uses it lots. Should I think of maybe a complete overhaul or a replacement at this time?

Henry brushes seem to catch in the carpet when pulling-will the brushes soften and make it easier to use as it makes the head bounce of the floor a bit when pulling making it harder work to vacuum?
